How can I keep from owing taxes?

Be sure to review your pay stub at the beginning of each year to be sure taxes are being withheld. If taxes are being withheld, use the "withholdings estimator" to calculate the appropriate amount for your income and household. If your numbers are off, go to your payroll department and request to update your W-4 form or update it online through your payroll provider.  OR Start a small business!  (we can help with this)

At what age does my Child Tax Credit decrease/stop?

As of 2023, the full credit of $2,000 is available for children under age 17. However, the credit will be reduced to $500 for all qualifying children age 17 and could be reduced even further as they reach 18+ and are disabled.
